Bugs Indie Music Chart w16

Lots of changes in the top 10 of Bugs’ indie music chart this week as only two of the songs from last week remain.

Humorist indie rock band The Theatre No.8 release a new EP, 대항해시대, on April 17. All three songs from it made it to the chart this week. I find it difficult not to be entertained by this video advertising first EP Welcome To The Show from 2008. For more old music of theirs, check out the MV for 2009 single 지금은 카니발.

Two Myung, as the name implies, is a duo. It’s the joint project of Whang Boryung and Hi, Mr. Memory. First album For… was released digitally on April 14 and the CD has been out since April 22. To make it even better, the album has been produced by Rainbow 99 that is also responsible for a remix of the song that entered the top 10 this week.

Even non-Korean bands can enter Bugs’ indie chart, as shown by Chicago’s bliss.city.east. However they’re not alone, as indie/twee pop duo The Brunettes from New Zealand just made it with a song from Structure & Cosmetics, released in Korea early 2009.
